Deck Restoration, Oakland, N.J.

This deck had been neglected by previous owners. The gray color had faded and detracted from the overall look of the entire dwelling. The deck boards were rough and numerous nails had popped through the surface.
The deck boards, top rails and other surfaces were sanded with a belt sander. All popped nails were removed and replaced with stainless steel screws. This deck was exposed to sunlight for approx. 10 hours a day in the summer months.

The start of the primer coat. Several coats of solid stain had been used in the past. Oil based primer was used on this job.

The finish coats were a deep red, from Cabots. All solid finish coats were oil based on this project.
